MOLE PREVENTION TIPS - The following are methods of keeping moles away:
1. Eliminate all sources of food. If moles do not find anything to feed on in the soil, they will probably move away from your lawn quickly. Sprinkle effective insecticides on your lawn to kill all the small organisms that the moles feed on. If there are no worms and other small insects for the mole to feed on, it has no reason to be there.
2. Modify your soil. If your lawn has loose soil like sandy soil, you might want to pass a roller through it to make the soli compact. This reduces the attractiveness of the soil to the mole. It would not want to live in soil that would be difficult to dig tunnels through.
3. Fencing. A good fence has to be installed properly in order to keep the moles away from your property. Make sure that this fence goes deep to a level where the moles cannot create tunnels under it. Preferably, the fence has to be made of steel or metal.
4. The use of poisonous plants can help repel moles. These plants are very dangerous to humans and farm animals but extremely useful when it comes to mole removal.
5. You can also use mole repellents that are sold in stores and have clear instructions on how to use them. Make sure you get repellent that has been verified to work and will not be dangerous to you and your animals or children.
